1. Food Tour

2. Rhythms of The Night 

If you’re searching for a little Cirque de Soleil-style cultural show and dinner experience, Rhythms of The Night is not to be missed. Although we aren’t big fans of large group tours, this show was excellent and well worth the money. This is one of Puerto Vallarta’s most popular trips. You’ll be met by an illuminated area with tiki torches and candles when you arrive. After that, you’ll be shown your seat in the palm-filled outdoor auditorium. The seats are all staggered, so even if there are people in front of you, you will be able to watch the show.

3. Watch Sunset

There’s something special about the sunsets on the Pacific Coast, particularly in Puerto Vallarta. We’ve seen some of the nicest sunsets we’ve ever seen from here. Take a seat and watch the show. Anywhere along the Malecon, up the hill behind the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, or from El Barracuda – the sunsets we saw at this beach bar were spectacular. When the sun goes down, the party in Puerto Vallarta begins – with so many pubs and clubs, the nightlife in Puerto Vallarta is legendary. One of the best free activities to do in Puerto Vallarta is to watch the sunset. 

4. Playa las Gemelas

Beaches that appear as if they belong in Cancun or Playa del Carmen rather than the Pacific can be about 20 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta. This is one of Mexico’s nicest beaches. The water at Playa Las Gemelas is turquoise, and the sand is pale. There were a lot of waves when we went, but no riptides or undertows, and the waves were wonderful to swim in. Other tourists have reported calm water, so it depends on the weather and time of year. Spend the day with a cooler full of beer, water, and snacks.
